BLUE HEALTH coaching

rewild yourself and get calm, clear and confident about your purpose-driven creative business

Try out a nature-informed coaching tool

Get this page up on your phone, find a spot in a blue (or green) space where you can spend some time without being interrupted and try out this ‘four directions meditation’ to reflect on the sustainability journey you’re on and try out a nature-informed tool at the same time.

Does this sound like you?

  • You’re looking for purpose and meaning. You’ve got big questions about what’s next for your making-based business and need a safe and compassionate space to explore the answers
  • You’ve hit a major milestone or experienced a pivotal life event and want to take time out of the busyness and overwhelm to reflect and re-assess
  • You’ve got an important decision to make and are feeling uncertain – you’re looking for impartial advice and a champion in your corner to help you find clarity
  • You are sinking in scarcity (not enough time, money, confidence, qualifications, control, health…) and want to float back into buoyant abundance
  • You feel out of alignment and like you’re just treading water and need help getting back into aligned flow
  • You have a great team but lack a sounding board – running a business can make you feel isolated and disconnected, especially when you’re swimming against the tide
  • You’re fed up with business advice that assumes you’re white, straight, male (even if you are!) and looking for nothing but profit and growth at the expense of all else – you’re looking for a coach who can hold space for all of who you are and the impact you want to make
  • You have tried online courses or group programmes, and now want undivided focus on you and your sustainability journey – after all, Olympic swimmers get coaches, so why shouldn’t you have one too?
You don’t have to do this alone

Introducing: BLUE HEALTH Coaching

Blue Health Coaching combines environmental psychology, applied neuroscience, philosophy, somatic practices and a good dose of fresh, salty air to support and encourage a more nature-connected, intuitive and aligned approach to your purpose-driven business and your life.

  • Blue Health Coaching is a three-way conversation between coach, client and their natural environment that seeks both internal and external alignment
  • Ideally, we will work in-person on the Cornish coastline, but there is an element of blue in every green space and ways to bring the ocean into virtual conversations too
  • You can choose to have either pure coaching, which supports you to find the answers within nature and yourself, or a blend of coaching and mentoring, which will include advice where appropriate
  • Together with nature, we will create non-judgemental and compassionate space in which to explore the big questions
  • You will find support and empowerment to build a purpose-driven business that is good for you and for the planet
  • I will encourage you to think of yourself as part of nature and that means no more treating yourself like a machine or a resource to be extracted from to the point of depletion and instead caring for yourself like the natural being that you really are
  • Learning with blue spaces, we will value connection, curiosity, purpose, imperfection and defiant hope
  • You will find calm, clarity and confidence in your purpose-driven creative business.
  • I am committed to inclusivity and offer wheelchair-friendly locations as well as flatter and slower-paced routes, I can provide a BSL interpreter, and I take into account neurodiversity and different learning styles in all of my work. If there’s anything else you need, just ask

How it works:

  • You can choose to ‘dip’, ‘plunge’ or ‘swim’ – that is a one-off 60–90-minute session, a full-day’s deep dive or a 6-month package.
  • We will start with a curiosity call so you can ask any questions and we can make sure we are a good fit and then I will ask you to complete a short questionnaire.
  • If you are based in, or can get to, West Cornwall, we’ll meet in person and take a walk along the coast, taking in stunning landscapes and bringing blue wisdom into our conversation. (Wheelchair friendly options and flatter, slower-paced routes are available.)
  • If you can’t get to Cornwall, we will either meet on Zoom and retreat into our nearest blue (or green) space before/during/after sessions – or we’ll conduct our sessions via Voxer from those spaces.
  • You can bring a specific question or challenge (recommended for ‘dip’ sessions), or just see what bubbles up as we talk.
  • I will use nature-informed coaching modalities to help you explore the challenges you are facing and encourage you find the answers within nature or yourself
  • If we agree upfront to blend mentoring into our sessions, I can also offer pragmatic advice drawing on 20 years’ experience in the creative industries and a career spanning books, journalism, Making Design Circular and training with the BioLeadersip Fellowship, the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and the University of Oxford
  • We can continue the conversation after each session via an app called Voxer through which you can send me text or voice messages at any time of day or night(!) and I will respond when I’m online.

Hey, I'm Katie Treggiden

I grew up in Cornwall when wild swimming was just called ‘swimming’ and time spent immersed in the natural world was the norm. I had an idyllic childhood, but moved away to study and then headed to the bright lights of the big city to seek my fortune. I was successful by all external measures, but my mental and physical health suffered and I lost touch with who I was.

A move back home in 2017 prompted a slow unfurling and a reconnection with nature, the sea and myself, culminating in undertaking the BioLeadership Fellowship in 2023 and Lizzi Larbalestier’s Blue Health Coaching course in 2024. I realised I had brought a lot of city life home with me and needed to unlearn as much as I needed to learn.

Getting back in the sea and spending more time doing the things I love such as walking, paddle boarding and beach yoga has helped me to overcome mental and physical health challenges and find a way of living – and making a living – that feels aligned with my heart, head and gut – and aligned with, and positively contributing to, the planet I am lucky enough to call home.

I have seen first-hand the transformation this work can have and I want that for you too.
