Making Design Circular
Making Design Circular is a membership community in which designers, makers artists and craftspeople get to feel proud of contributing to a thriving planet with every product they make.
By displaying the “I am Making Design Circular” badge on their website, or the tent card on their trade show or craft fair stand, members are making a commitment to working through the ‘5-Stage Path to Sustainability’ and carving out time every week to rewild their creative practice so that they, their business and the planet can thrive.
If you’re a designer, maker, artist or craftsperson and…
You’re doing your best to be sustainable, but it can feel isolating, confusing and overwhelming
You want to do the “right” thing, but you’re not always sure what that is and you’re worried about getting called out on the internet for getting it wrong
You’re tired of feeling guilty about putting “yet more stuff” out into the world and yearn to reconnect with the curiosity, playfulness and creativity that got you into craft or design in the first place
You already struggle to balance looking after your creative practice, your business, the other people in your life and yourself, so looking after the planet, while you know it’s important, often falls to the bottom of the list
I want you to know that it doesn’t have to be this way.
THE MAKING DESIGN CIRCULAR MEMBERSHIP IS A GORGEOUS COMMUNITY OF PURPOSE-DRIVEN CREATIVES WHO ARE SHAKING OFF THE “SHOULD”S TO MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE.
“
I’d often felt a disconnect between my work as a furniture designer-maker and my personal values; so I decided to bring them closer together. Being part of Making Design Circular has given me the knowledge to get started and a community to share my ideas with. I now have a job that I love and care about and I am excited about my future as a maker again.
