If you are a Making Design Circular member or you’ve done one of our short courses and you loved your experience – or you just feel aligned to our mission – we would love to shout about it from the rooftops. The world needs more designers, makers and craftspeople making imperfect progress towards environmental sustainability.
And if someone joins us because you’ve introduced them to our work, we would love to say thank you. That’s why we’ve created an affiliate programme.
Simply register below and generate you own unique referral link to receive a percentage of every sale as a little thank you for your contribution to making the world a better place.
The programme is designed to be super user-friendly and once you’re signed up, you can log in any time you like to check in on real-time tracking and reporting tools to see how it’s going.
Whether you’re a designer-maker yourself or an organsation that promotes and supports craft and making, our affiliate programme is a rewarding opportunity to generate some extra income while helping to save the planet.
Benefits
Cookie days are the number of days someone will be tracked after clicking one of your tracking links – so if someone clicks your unique link and then comes directly to our website any time within the next 30 days, you will still get your percentage.
You will earn a percentage of the sale amount for each referral, so the more expensive the course, the more you earn.
We offer generous commission percentages – this is the amount you will receive for each sale you generate.
— 33% commission for members and promotional partners
— 50% commission for course contributors
We use 'last click' attribution – this is a model where the tracking gives all the credit to the affiliate that provides the last click before a conversion.
For example, if two different affiliates both send a link to the same person, they click on the first affiliate link but don't purchase, and then click the second affiliate link, and make a purchase, it is the second who will be awarded the sale.
We will pay your commission 30 days after the sale. Because we offer a full no-quibble refund on all of our short courses and our members can cancel at any time, this slight time lag is to allow for that. Any refund requests or cancellations after that time will not affect your commission.
Average order value (AOV) refers to the average amount spent by customers on our short courses, coaching and membership.
It is calculated by dividing total revenue by total number of orders.
Because we have only recently launched the short courses, we don't have enough data to calculate this yet, but we will share with full transparency as soon as we can.
Our conversion rate is the percentage of website visitors who turn into customers.
Example: A 5% conversion rate means that for every 100 people who visit our website, five people bought something.
Again, because our website is so new, we don't have that data yet, but we will share it as soon as we can.
Approval Guidelines
The world needs more designers, makers and craftspeople making imperfect progress towards environmental sustainability, so we welcome all applications to our programme.
However, we do have an approvals process to ensure all of our affiliates are aligned with our values.
Mainly we are looking for partners who:
- believe that climate change is real, black lives matter, no human is illegal, love is love, all genders are valid, women’s rights are human rights, neurodiversity makes the world go round and kindness is everything
- do not display content that contradicts the above, or may be deemed pornographic or otherwise offensive
- We review applications on a case-by-case basis and, as such, these are only general guidelines, and we reserve the right to make exceptions.
We do not allow affiliates to bid on advertising campaigns that contain keywords ‘katie treggiden’ or ‘making design circular’ because that would be in direct competition to our own marketing efforts and we are keen to connect with new audiences through this programme.
We are a tiny team, but we do try to respond to approval requests as quickly as we can. If you do not hear from us within a reasonable amount of time, or you have questions concerning our programme, please let us know.
Please note that if you fail to meet the terms of our agreement we may remove you at any time. Sorry, not sorry.
